Pastors Dan & Brenda Rogers founded Solid Rock Family Worship Center in January 1987. It began in Selah, Wa. at Selah Full Gospel Church with 13 people. Pastors Dan & Brenda along with their 3 children worked diligently sharing the gospel through Sunday morning messages and Bible studies. The Lord working with their efforts, they began to see the church grow and soon the congregation outgrew their building. In 1990 Selah Full Gospel moved into neighboring Yakima where the congregation continued to thrive and the name was changed to Solid Rock Church. In October of 1993 Solid Rock Church moved to its third location at 34th & Tieton Drive, a location which provided more room for ministry. The Lord specifically spoke and said that the church would be at this location three years. In that time the congregation continued to grow with many souls being saved and added to God’s Kingdom. Birthed during this time was a heart for the inner city. Solid Rock then moved to the heart of Yakima into an old grocery store turned church building where church was anything but boring, Ministry to the homeless with food and clothing and a bus ministry busing in nearly 100 Kids each week. The church would continue to see growth and God’s blessings. After a turn of events Solid Rock made two more moves with the last being the present location a block north of the grocery store that they had previously occupied. At our present location we continue to see God’s blessing through miraculous provision, salvations and the birthing of new ministries. With many people ministered to on a weekly basis through feeding and clothing programs, childcare services, ministries to our city police force as well as our connect groups which minister on topics relevant to the life of people today. We look forward to seeing how God continues to write the history of Solid Rock Family Worship Center
